Q: How much will my child learn in one semester of lessons?
A: Your child will learn basic vocabulary and basic sentences
for communication. Since the class is only twice a week for
an hour, the main goal is to give your child an “ear”
for the language. Another goal is to instill a love of learning
the language in your child so he or she will want to continue
to learn and eventually gain fluency in a second language.
Q: If my child misses a class can he or she get a make up
class?
A: There are no make up classes for group programs. However,
if you contact ABC Language Exchange at SFinfo@abclang.com,
they can send you an outline of what was covered.
Q: Will classes be held on Early Dismissal Days?
A: Yes, classes will take place at the regularly scheduled time, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-4:15pm.
Q: What qualifications does the teacher have?
A: ABC works with native speakers with a minimum of two
years of experience teaching. Additionally, they choose
only the most affable and lively professional teachers so
your child will actually enjoy learning a second language.
Q: Do you have any programs that meet more than once or twice a week?
A: We are happy to provide a program that meets more than
once or twice a week. Just let ABC know what is your preferred program
in terms of frequency of lessons and best days for lessons.
If we get enough requests matching yours, we can tailor
a program to meet your wishes. You may put your request
in at http://abclang.org/sf/contact_us.htm - be sure to
mention you are with St. John’s School.
Q: What if my child doesn’t want to continue with
his/her program?
A: Unfortunately we form the groups based on a minimum number
of students. Therefore, there are no refunds. However, if
you do have a concern about the class or style of teaching
ABC is happy to work with you to make any changes to ensure
that you and your child will enjoy the program.
