Liz Smith is the Private Program Manager at ABC Language Exchange in New York. She takes care of all of the private clientele. Liz graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a BA in French languages and literatures and Secondary Education. Now that she is fluent in French, she hopes to continue her foreign language fever by learning Italian, Spanish and ASL, then hopefully many more languages in the future! She grew up in the DC Metropolitan area of Maryland and recently started her first year living in the Big Apple. Outside of the office, Liz loves traveling whenever and wherever she can. She also can never read enough books, more often than not girlie fiction novels, or even more so re-reading Harry Potter books and watching the movies over and over again.

Roxie M. Benchimol is ABC’s Director of Human Resources. She obtained a BA in Philosophy and Literature from Eugene Lang College of the New School and is currently also pursuing her PhD in Philosophy at the New School for Social Research. Her focus is on Ordinary Language Philosophy, specifically in light of the gap between Continental and Analytic traditions. Roxie has been teaching German and German Literature at ABC since 2004. And she has recently begun to teach a graduate seminar on German philosophical texts at the New School. She grew up in Saudi Arabia and Austria and speaks German and English fluently, translates Latin and some Ancient Greek, and sometimes mutters some Spanish and French. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her husband, indulging in feline ornithology with her three cats, and the occasional glass or two of champagne.
